So, I had decided to do this challenge of listening to every album listed in the “1001 Albums To Hear Before You Die” in early December, and once I did, 2 cool things happened that relate to the first several albums up in the roster from the 1950’s.
I took a look at the first few albums I would be faced with and the first is Frank Sinatra’s “In The Wee Small Hours”.
It just so happens that December 12th is Frank Sinatra’s birthday.

There was a 100th Birthday celebration on TV on the 6th of this month. Interesting that the book starts with him. I think it’s a cool omen. This one won’t be any trouble. I verified it’s on Spotify, and I love all that Rat Pack stuff.
Also in the first handful of records to listen to is Louis Prima.
His album “The Wildest” is listed. No way. I have this album! It was given to me by Josh. I get to check this one out on vinyl.
and it’s signed. Not sure if it’s legit, but it does say “To John, Hope you like it. Lou”
I like to imagine it’s real, but it could be someone’s 2nd cousin Lou Whatever giving this to John for Christmas. You never know though.
There are a lot of records in the book that I have heard/owned/still own that I will be able to skip over, but it will still be quite an undertaking. I will start on January 1st.
Frank will be a good way to ring in the new year.
Ring a ding ding.
