I stopped in at St. Vinny’s in Waunakee and was surprised to find that there were no records there anymore! Not that I found a lot of great stuff there, but sometimes it’s the joy of looking. In place of the records they now have a big bookshelf full of CD’s and DVD’s.
Like I need CD’s, but I looked.
Glad I did. All unmarked CD’s were $1. I found 4 (technically 6) that I had to buy.
“Prince – Emancipation”
This is a 3 CD set, but since it was unmarked… $1. I used to own this and there are some fantastic songs on here mixed in with some “meh” tracks. CD 3 of the set is worth the price of the whole thing. Prince’s great screw off to his record company is their loss and our gain. Prince and Nine Inch Nails were the only 2 artists that I would go to a store to buy their new CD. He is awesome, more before than now, but much respect to you Prince. Glad you are unchained now.
“Peter Gabriel – Secret World Live”
Also unmarked, and also $1. I have never heard this one but I paid $1 for 2 cassettes of Peter’s a few weeks ago. Seemed like I couldn’t pass this one up. Still giving Peter a chance. Turns out actually that this is only disc 1 of 2. Ah well.
There was a big pile of CD’s in slimline cases and I almost passed over them, but I flipped through them quick and discovered these!
“Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti”
Dude. Awesome, AND they gave me these both for $1. They are a set after all. These are all destined for the van for travelling music.
I also picked up while I was there an old school tape case for .90 cents.
Remember these babies. Sa-weet. I put all my newest tape treasures inside. Beautiful.
And that is why I keep stopping back to St Vinny’s.
They don’t sell this stuff in the stores anymore. Or do they? Pure classics.
